Chip Hanna from the Bombs and the magic

Chip spent a few nights at my place in Chico when the US Bombs would play through on tour. We would sit around and talk about music. Very rarely did we talk about punk. Normally we talked about country (Hank Williams) but on one tour he was obsessed and i mean obsessed with Sam Cooke. He had tracked down Sam's original guitar player Cliff and talked with him about playing the recording below. Sam Cooke live at the Harlem Square Club, amazing. This album and recording changed his life. It also then changed mine when he played it for me. Listen to all of it and imagine yourself in a dimly lit soul club with a stiff drink in your hand and a woman by your side. Magic...this has more soul than...
